The musical gangster drama Tamil film “Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu” was released in cinemas in mid-September. It scored well at the box office and is now gearing for the OTT release. Scroll down and read on to know the digital partner of VTK and its digital debut.
It is directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon and the story is penned by B. Jeyomohan, the flick is backed by Ishari K Ganesh under the banner of Vels Film International.
VTK OTT Release Date
The post-theatrical digital rights of VTK are acquired by the leading OTT platform Amazon Prime Video, was expecting on the platform in late October or during the occasion of Diwali but coming sooner ‘13th of Oct‘.

VTK Box Office Report
Gautham Vasudev Menon directed was opened with positive reviews from the critics, however, took a below-par start in the home market, Tamil Nadu. It was expected to open with double-digit figures instead it minted Rs 8.25 crores. That said, VTK became the top opening day grosser for the actor beating his past highest Maanadu’s day 1 of Rs 7.90 crores.
Despite, a record opening, the film saw a below-par trend over the weekend and has clocked only 25 crores in its extended opening weekend, whereas Maanadu had accumulated Rs 28 crores in the first 4 days, as per a report of Pinkvilla. Overall it was a decent first weekend for the flick, as it minted over 29 crores nett at the Indian box office, the report states.

VTK Part 2
Gautham Vasudev Menon teased the fan for part 2 in the movie, earlier in the trailer and audio launch event, he said that if the first part-The Kindling would get a good response they would go for the sequel.
Now, as per the maker’s claim, VTK has grossed over 50 crores in its first four days, which they themselves announced by launching a 55.56 crores gross worldwide poster. Now that, if the first part is doing well at the box office, we can smell the sequel coming it’s way. The second part will showcase how Muthu becomes a dreaded gangster.
