Kamal Haasan’s “Vikram” is currently in its 7th week, this second film of Loki’s universe has been on a recording-breaking spree ever since it hit the cinemas. The film was very crucial for Kamal Haasan as the Ulganayagan was returning to the big screens after almost 4 yrs.
Also, his last release Vishwaroopam 2 was declared a bomb at the box office, so it helped to end the dry spell of the actor’s career. Directed and written by Lokesh Kanagaraj and backed by Haasan himself with R. Mahendran under Haasan’s banner Raaj Kamal Films International.
Box Office Figures Vary
The film is now marching towards Rs 450 Cr mark worldwide, however, the collection of it varies. On July 7, Asianet News and Amar Ujala Hindi reported that the box office collections of Vikram have gone up to Rs 442.45 crores in 34 days while recently Kollywood tracker Ramesh Bala informed that Vikram has crossed Rs 432 crores globally. He also informed that the total earnings of the film in the home market (Tamil Nadu) stands at Rs 182 crores.

Box Office Collections
Vikram is the second highest-grosser Tamil film of all time after Rajinikanth’s 2.0 (Rs 850 Cr), it is inching closer to Rs 200 Cr in Tamil Nadu if it does that it will be the first film to achieve that feat.
It has already become the highest-grosser Kollywood film in Tamil Nadu beating the Baahubali 2 and Vishwasam record. It is Ulganayagan’s career highest-grossing film. Though the film performed below par on the Hindi circuit, the film has done business very well at the box office home market and overseas. The film had a run of only two weeks at the box office in the north, the total Hindi collection of Vikram stands at Rs 6.64 Cr.
