Kollywood superstar Kamal Haasan’s blockbuster Pan India action thriller Vikram had hit the theatres on June 3, it was opened to highly positive response from the audiences as well as critics.
The film is the namesake of Hassan’s 1986 film, however, it is not related to the former one. The film’s principal photography began with a photoshoot session in July 2021 and the shoot started on August 6, the same year but it was delayed for multiple reasons.
The first schedule of the film began on August 20, 2021 in Karaikudi and the second was shot in Chennai and Pondicherry. On March 1, 2022, the team announced the wrap-up for the film.
Vikram OTT Release Date
The action-entertainer finally ended the wait of fans on June 3, who were eagerly waiting to enjoy the much-hyped film in the cinema hall. The film was released theatrically in Tamil along with dubbed Telugu, Hindi and Malayalam versions.
The film is having a dream run at the box office and has become the all-time highest grosser in Tamilnadu and the second-highest grosser tamil film of all time.
Now, there is a lot of buzz around regarding the post-theatrical OTT rights of the film. Many speculations has been circulating all over social media. As per some media reports, the satellite and digital rights of the film have been bagged by Star Group at a whopping amount of Rs. 125 crore.
Disney+ Hotstar confirmed this by posting a teaser on 29th June, it is now streaming on Disney+ Hotstar on 8 July 2022 in all five Indian languages Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada.

Vikram Star Cast
Directed and written by Lokesh Kanagaraj, Vikram stars Kamal Haasan in the titular role, who is a highly-proficient retired cop. It features Kollywood megastar Vijay Sethupathi as antagonist Santhanam, Malayalam superstar Fahadh Faasil as Amar, Narain as Inspector Bejoy, Arjun Das as Anbu, Harish Uthaman as Adaikalam, Kalidas Jayaram as Prapanchan, and Chemban Vinod Jose as Police Chief Jose.
Other than these stars, the film also features Gayathrie Shankar, Shanvi Srivastava, Shivani Narayanan, G. Marimuthu, Ramesh Thilak, Aruldoss, Sampath Ram, Gokulnath, Haressh Peradi and others.
Vikram Makers
Lead actor Kamal Hassan’s banner Raaj Kamal Films have backed the project and R. Mahendran is the co-producer. Director Kanagaraj has written the dialogues along with Rathna Kumar. Vikram’s technical crew includes Girish Gangadharan as cinematographer, Philomin Raj as editor and Anirudh Ravichander as music composer.
