After being postponed multiple times due to various reason Kollywood superstar Kamal Hassan starrer Vikram has finally hit the big screen today. Directed and written by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the film is an action thriller which was creating a lot of buzz since its announcement and now finally the wait is over for fans around the world.
Along with playing the title role in the film, Haasan has also produced this highly anticipated action entertainer under his banner Raaj Kamal Films International. R. Mahendran is its co-producer.
Plot
Despite being namesake of Haasan starrer 1986 film, the new version is otherwise and unrelated to the original one. However, Vikram’s prologue that was released in 2020 featured a mixed version of the theme song from the former film.
The plot of the film revolves around two siblings among them one is a gangster and the other one is a politician. They both kidnap a high ranking government official and trap him in their own prison. Viram (Kamal Haasan), a retired police officer is assigned to save him and the rest of the story is based on how he saves the government official from the grip of them.
Performance of the Star Cast
The much-awaited film marks the return 0f Kamal Hassan on the big screen after four long years. As many have watched the first day first show of Vikram in theatres, the fans shared their views on the pan Indian film on the internet.
Along with Tamil, the film was released in dubbed versions in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi. It opened to rave positive reviews, the performance of lead actor Haasan, and his action sequences left the fans frenzy.
Another two promising actors, mega star Vijay Sethupathi and Fahadh Faasil have impressed everyone with their performance. Also, the cameo appearance of Jai Bhim fame megastar Suriya made the fans all go crazy. Overall, the film is a mass entertainer with a solid action sequence.
Ever since the film has hit the theatres, the internet has been flooded with tweets and reviews for the film, that are telling that the film is going to be a winner. Netizens are not getting over it and are praising the entire star cast, the direction and every aspect of the film.
Apart from fans, popular personalities are also appreciating the film. Popular South Indian Film Critic Ramesh has given 4.5 stars out of 5 and called it a masterpiece in his one world review.
