Vir Das, the renowned Indian comedian, actor, and musician, was recently awarded the International Emmy Award for Comedy for Netflix’s standup special ‘Vir Das: Landing’. The 51st Emmy International Awards 2023 were held on November 20, 2023, in New York.
Along with Vir Das, Jim Sarbh and Shefali Shah were also nominated for the Emmy International Awards 2023. However, Jim and Shefali were nominated for the best actor and actress, but they didn’t win the award. Whereas, Ekta Kapoor was awarded the Directorate Award.
Vir Das recently took to his social media and posted a photo of him holding the award, and he dedicated the award to India and Indian comedy. He even thanked the event’s hosts for the incredible honor. However, he shared his award with Derry Girls Season 3.

Vir Das was born on May 31, 1979, and presently he is 44 years old. He was born in Dehradun and raised in Nigeria and India. He was admitted to an Indian Language School in Nigeria.
In India, he was admitted to The Lawrence School, Sanawar, and Delhi Public School, Noida. He has obtained a bachelor’s degree in economics and theater from Knox College in Galesburg, Illinois. Later, he was admitted to Harvard University and did the Joint Stanislavsky Program.
