Popular OTT streaming platform Disney+Hotstar will soon premiere its upcoming docu-series titled Welcome to Wrexham, which is produced by Boardwalk Pictures for FX Networks.
The series follows the events of Welsh football club Wrexham Association Football Club, known as Wrexham A.F.C. It tracks the dreams and people of Wrexham, working class town in North Wales, United Kingdom, as two Hollywood stars take ownership of the town’s historic yet struggling football club.

In September 2020, American actor Rob McElhenney of “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” and Ryan Reynolds of Deadpool fame announced their intentions to buy the Wrexham A.F.C., one of the oldest professional football clubs in the world and the deal was done in February 2021. The two owners will also be seen in the docu-series.
It is produced by both the stars. along with Nick Frenkel, John Henion, Andrew Fried, Dane Lillegard, Jordan Wynn and Sarina Roma under the banners of Boardwalk Pictures, Maximum Effort and FX productions. The project was announced by McElhenney and Reynolds in May 2021.
Welcome to Wrexham OTT Release Date
The streaming date of this highly-anticipated docu-series is finally out. FX has confirmed that the series will come up with back to back episodes on August 244, 2022 on FX (in USA only) and the following it will stream on Hulu as well as Disney+Hotstar in the United States and the United Kingdom. Indian audiences can enjoy the series on the same day as Disney+Hotstar.

Welcome to Wrexham Trailer
The full trailer of the series came out on July 20, 2022 and it gives us the sneak peek into how Reynolds and McElhenney got to know the club. From answering questions from the club’s supporters to touring the grounds, the actors tell us about how anxious they are about managing the club without having any prior experience.
The promising trailer also shows us how much Wrexham AFC means to the community and how appreciative they are of it given a second chance and a new lease of life. Check out the official trailer below:
