Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is a popular Hindi sitcom which aired on SAB TV. The show holds the Guinness World Record of the longest running daily sitcom on television by episode count.
Recently, the show’s main lead Shailesh Lodha, who used to play Taarak Mehta in the show, left the fans shocked after he quitted the show after a huge 14 year long time span. He had been the part of the show since its inception in 2008 and apart from being a key character, he was also the narrator.
Why Shailesh Lodha Left TMKOC?
The news of him quitting the show came as a shock to Lodha’s fans, who are now so eager to know the reason behind his leaving the show. While Lodha has remained tight-lipped about the matter, reports suggest that multiple issues led him to take the plunge.
As per sources, the actor was not happy with is contract and felt that his dates were not properly used while shooting for the show.It was also reported that Shailesh was not able to explore other opportunities due to his tight schedule for TMKOC and despite producer Asit Kumarr Modi’s effort to keep him onboard, the poet-actor decide to move on after a solid partnership spanning 14 years.
Who is New Taarak Mehta?
Ever since Lodha left the show, there was much speculation about who would be the next Taarak Mehta. Now, putting all rumours aside, TMKOC producer Asit Kumarr Modi has revealed that actor Sachin Shroff is going to replace Lodha to be the new Taarak Mehta of the show. The actor has also started shooting for the show.
Sachin Shroff is a popular name in the television industry and over the years, has featured in the many TV serials such as ‘Har Ghar Kuch Kehta Hai’, ‘Naaginn’, ‘Sinndoor Tere Naam Ka’, ‘Saat Phere: Saloni Ka Safar’, ‘Shagun Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin’ among others.
Besides, he also appeared in MX Player Original series Aashram and recently released social comedy film Dasvi, starring Abhishek Bachchan and Yami Gautam in the lead roles. It will be interesting to see if could bring the same energy to the show like Lodha did as Taarak Mehta.
Sachin married actress Juhi Parmar of “Kumkum” fame in 2009 and in 2013, the couple was blessed with a baby girl. In early 2018, his wife confirmed that they had filed for divorce, which was finalized in July 2018.
