According to reports, Jaya Prada has been given a six-month prison term and a 5,000 rupee fine by a Chennai court because of an old case. According to reports, her business associates Raja Babu and Ram Kumar were also convicted in the case.
Jaya Prada is Accused of Not Paying ESI to Her Theatre Company Workers
A theatre owned by Jaya Prada in Chennai was closed down. Later, the theatre employees accused her of failing to deduct their ESI payments from their pay. A Chennai courtroom found veteran actor and activist Jaya Prada guilty on Friday.
She has been given a six-month prison term. According to reports, she has also been fined 5000 rupees in connection with the case where she was charged with failing to pay the ESI money to theatrical employees. Two of her business partners, Ram Kumar, and Raja Babu, reportedly also received convictions.
Employees asserted that the ESI payments were not given to the Government Insurance Company.
In Chennai’s Egmore Magistrate Court, the Labour Government Insurance Corporation has launched a lawsuit against Jaya Prada and her friends. It also appeared that the veteran was recognizing the accusations and committing to repay the amount while also requesting that the lawsuit be dropped. The court, however, dismissed her appeal and imposed a fine and sentence of imprisonment.
