TV actor Paras Kalnawat, who rose to fame playing as Samar Shah in Star Plus’ popular TV show Anupamaa, has been terminated from the shows.
Yes, You heard it right!! The actor will no longer be the part of the show, which has been premiering on the TV channel since July 13, 2020. It also streamed on Disney+ Hotstar.
The show features actress Rupali Ganguly in the titular role as Anupamaa Joshi Kapadia or Anu, a Gujarati housewife. Along with her, the show also stars Sudhanshu Pandey and Gaurav Khanna in the lead roles. It is produced by Rajan Shahi and Deepa Shahi under the banner of “Director’s Kut Productions”.
Actor Paras was playing Anupamaa and her husband Vanraj’s younger son. In the future we are not going to see him playing the role of Samar in the show.
Reason Behind His Termination
On Tuesday, July 26, 2022, Anupamaa producers sent out a press statement regarding the termination of the actor from the show. The statement said that they are terminating the actor’s contract with an immediate effect.
They said the reason behind it was “Breaching the contract” by the actor as he went ahead and signed the dance reality show Jhalak Dikhla Jaa Season 10 without allegedly informing them.
Paras’ Response After His Termination
It seems that the fight between Paras Kalnawat and the makers of the show Anupamaa is getting bigger and bigger day by day. Soon after the release of the press statement of the show’s producer, the actor also told his side of story on social media as well as to a media house.
While talking to a media house, the actor said that he had indeed informed the team about him taking part in the dance reality show, and as his character in the show had not much to do, he wanted to challenge himself with something new.
He also said that he hadn’t even signed the dance reality show, when the makers terminated his contract. Paras said that he had no idea about his termination from the show and no one discussed anything with him regarding this.
Paras revealed that there is a lot of politics in the industry and added that it is difficult to survive unless one is himself a part of the same.
Paras Calls Anupamaa a “Nightmare”
On Wednesday, July 27, Paras posted a video on Instagram in which he can be seen tapping feat with his co-star Alma Hussain on “Kesariya” song. He also wrote a caption in which he confirmed that his journey on Anupamaa has come to an end.
The actor shared that while he is emotional with teary-eyes, it also gives him a sigh of relief. He called the show nothing less than a nightmare. Further he thanked show makers for giving him the opportunity to work on the show as well as his fans for showering immense love and support.

Paras Kalnawat Confirmed as the Contestant in Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 10
Colors TV on Sunday, August 7, 2022 launched the new promo of its upcoming dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 10 and confirmed Paras as the contestant for the show. In the promo video Paras can be seen showcasing his dance moves. Along with him, Nia Sharma, Dheeraj Dhooper and Shilpa Shinde are also confirmed as the contestants of the show.
