X=Prem is an upcoming Bengali romantic drama film which is directed by Srijit Mukherji, the National award-winning Bengali director, who directed many commercially successful films in the past, such as Autograph (2010), Jaatishwar (2014), Chotushkone (2014), Rajkahini (2015), Ek Je Chhilo Raja (2018) and Gumnaami (2019).
His last directorial venture is Bengali adventure drama film Kakababur Protyaborton. He has also given the direction in upcoming Hindi biographical drama Shabbaash Mithu, based on the life journey of current Test and ODI captain of the Indian women’s National Cricket Team, Mithali Raj, starring actress Taapsee Pannu in titular role.
Other than directing the movie, Srijit has also written its story as well as screenplay. It is bankrolled by Srikant Mohta and Mahendra Sony under the banner of SVF Social.
The film has cinematography by Subhankar Bhar and editing is handled by Sanglap Bhowmik while music and background score are composed by Sanai and Ami-Insaan respectively.
X=Prem Star Cast
The film will feature some fresh and known faces in the lead including Arjun Chakrabarty, Madhurmika Basak, Anindya Sengupta and Shruti Das. While X=Prem marks the debut of Anindya and Shruti as actors, Arjun and Madhurima will be seen to work with Srijit Mukherji for the first time.
Arjun acted in many Bengali movies in the past including Bapi Bari Jaa, Bonku Babu, One, Pink etc. His last release was Subhrajit Mitra’s drama film Avijatrik. Although joined hands for the first time with Srijith, the director made a guest appearance in Arjun’s 2012 acclaimed film Bapi Bari Ja.
Talking about Madhurmika Basak, she is best known for her notable role in a serial titled Milon Tithi, which premiered on Star Jalsa during 2015-2017.

On Monday, April 4, 2022, the makers unveiled the first look poster of this most awaited romantic comedy drama, featuring the leading star cast- Arjun, Madhurmika, Anindya and Shruti, having different expressions on their faces.

Although the release date of the film has not come out, it is expected to be released on May 13, 2022. The makers of the film have officially confirmed that the film is going to be released theatrically in May 2022. The shooting of the film started in July 2021 and most of the part was shot in and around Kolkata.
Plot of the Film
The story of the film revolves around a couple Khilat, who is a software engineer and Joyee, who is going through various challenges which results in a happening of some unexpected events. With each other’s love and support, they are determined to face all problems the couple is gong through. The film will depict how the couple overcome all difficulties through social methods and how the power of love can solve all adversaries in life.
