2014’s coming-of-age romantic drama film Yaariyan, is set to come up with its standalone sequel, Yaariyan 2. While the first instalment was directed by actor-producer Divya Khosla kumar and featured some new actors like Himansh Kohli and Rakul Preet Singh, the second instalment will have a completely different cast.
This time Divya Kumar Khosla will feature in the film as the lead actress. Apart from that, she is also donning the hat of producer along with her husband Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar and Aayush Maheshwari, the much-awaited upcoming movies of 2023 gets a new release date.
Yaariyan 2 Motion Poster
On October 12, 2022, the makers officially announced the film by dropping a motion poster. The official social media handle of T-series released the 47-second video clip along with the tag line “Cousins by blood, friends by choice! A family glued bond of true friendship brings back to you, #Yaariyan 2”.
The poster features different modes of transport, from a car to a bus to a train. It also gives us the glimpse of one of the songs from the film, titled “Teri Talaash Mein”. One cannot guess much about the plot of the film after seeing the motion poster.
Yaariyan 2 Star Cast
The film, presented by Bhushan Kumar and T-Series, stars Divya Kumar Khosla in the female lead role. Divya, known for directing films like Yaariyan and Sanam Re, has appeared in many music videos in the past. As an actor, she also appeared in movies like Love Today, Ab Tumhare Hawale Watan Saathiyo, Love Today and Satyamev Jayate 2.
Bengali actor Yash Dasgupta will play opposite Divya in his Hindi debut film.Yaariyaan 2 will also feature Anaswara Rajan, Warina Hussain, Priya Varrier, Meezaan Jafri and Pearl V Puri in key roles.
Yaariyan 2 Release Date
Along with sharing the motion poster of the film, T-series also revealed the release date of Yaariyan 2. The film, which is currently in the filming stage, was set to be released theatrically on May 12, 2023 but postponed now to 20 Oct 2023.
About the Film
However, the makers of the film haven’t revealed much about the film’s storyline. It is reported that the upcoming sequel is going to have a completely different plot from the first instalment. The film is directed by Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru, who are also bankrolling it under their Rao & Sapru Film banner along with T-Series.
