Yash Raj Films production is soon going to see six of its films getting featured on Amazon Prime Video. Much-awaited Bollywood movies under the banner will soon be available on Amazon Prime Video, the Over the Top platform.
The OTT platform has signed a deal with the Yash Raj Films production for Shamshera, Bunty Aur Babli 2, Prithviraj, Jayesh Bhai Jordaar, and two Khan movies Tiger 3, and Pathaan. The movies will be streamed on Amazon Prime Video four weeks after their theatrical release barring Pathaan, and Tiger 3 which will be streamed 8 weeks after their theatrical release!
As per several sources, Amazon Prime has paid a sum of Rs. 200 Cr to receive streaming rights for two of the most awaited movies Pathaan, and Tiger 3. The movies are currently under the production phase and are expected to be released in the second half of 2022.
Gaurav Gandhi, country head, Amazon Prime Video, said in one of his interviews that right now Amazon is trying to focus entirely on the biggest and most entertaining movies and a deal with YRF is a step towards the same.
Speaking about the movies that have been sealed for streaming on Amazon Prime, the most awaited is Shah Rukh Khan’s “Pathan”, which is the superstar’s comeback movie almost after 3 years.

Pathan
Apart from King Khan, the movie also features Deepika Padukone and John Abraham. Directed by Siddharth Anand, the movie is a typical action movie with the role of a gangster being played by John Abraham, who is the most wanted on the cops’ list! Salman Khan is supposedly playing a cameo role in the movie.
Tiger 3
The next Khan movie is Tiger 3 which is the sequel to Salman Khan’s previous Tiger movies! The film brings back its original cast of Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif, playing their previous roles of RAW and ISI agents respectively, and Emraan Hashmi is also playing a pivotal role.
Bunty Aur Bably 2
Bunty Aur Bably 2 is a sequel of its original creation in the year 2005 with a twist of Abhishek Bachhan being replaced by Saif Ali Khan this time. The movie also features Siddhant Chaturvedi and Sharvari Wagh who are supposedly the actual Bunty and Bubbly playing the lead role in the movie. The movie is set to release on November 19, 2021.
Prithviraj
The 12th-century ruler’s “Prithviraj” brings out the debutant, former Miss Universe, Manushi Chillar playing the role of Prithviraj’s wife, Sanyogita while the titular role has been played by Akshay Kumar. The movie is slated for next year’s release on January 21, 2022.
Jayeshbhai Jordaar
Directed by Divyang Thakkar, “Jayeshbhai Jordaar” is a comedy that features Ranveer Singh and Shalini Pandey. The film will be released on February 25, 2022.
Shamshera
And the last one is Ranbir Kapoor’s Shamshera, directed by Karan Malhotra, the movie features Ranbir Kapoor in a double role. The film also has Vaani Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt playing key roles in the movie. “Shamshera” is said to be released on March 18, 2022.
Though it was reported earlier that Aditya Chopra had turned down the 200 Cr deal, the reports have been confirmed of his acceptance now.
