The Lion King 3rd day box office collection: Jon Favreau’s ‘The Lion King’ had another big day at the Indian box office.

Jon Favreau’s remake of 1994 classic ‘The Lion King’ had a superb opening weekend at the Indian box office. After a good opening, The Lion King collection witnessed huge growth on Saturday and Sunday.

Jon Favreau’s film had another big day as it recorded 28.15% growth in the earning on Sunday. The Lion King 3rd day box office collection is 24.54 crores. The first weekend total of the film stands at 54.75 crores.

The Lion King is the third Hollywood film after Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame to cross 50 crore mark in the first weekend.

Despite the competition from several new and holdover movies, The Lion King is the first choice for the moviegoers this week. Director Jon Favreau has delivered yet another VFX and animated masterpiece after The Jungle Book.

Released on 2140 screens, it opened to decent response and earned 11.06 crores on its first day. On Saturday, the collection went up by 70% as it earned 19.15 crores.

Jon Favreau’s magic works again

After The Jungle Book, Jon Favreau once again managed to connect with the audience owing to superb animation, VFX and emotional content.

The Jungle Book was a huge hit in India. After a good opening of 10.09 crores, it went on to earn 170+ crores at the Indian box office.

The hold on Monday will decide, how long will it run at the box office. With the kind of response, ‘The Lion King’ is getting, we can expect it to cross 100 crore mark very soon.

The two major Bollywood releases of this week, Jhootha Kahin Ka and Family of Thakurganj failed to make an impact at the box office.

Last week release, Hrithik Roshan’s Super 30 has performed well and managed to earn around 25 crores in the second weekend.
