With the collection of 113+ crores, The Lion King becomes the 6th Bollywood movie to cross 100 crore mark in India. The other five are Avengers: Endgame (365.5 crores), Avengers: Infinity War (222.69 crores), The Jungle Book (188 crores), Fast and Furious 7 (110 crores) and Jurrasic World (101 crores).
Despite the competition from several new and holdover movies, The Lion King is the first choice for the moviegoers this week.
After The Jungle Book, Jon Favreau has delivered yet another VFX and animated masterpiece. He once again managed to connect with the audience owing to superb animation, VFX and emotional content.
The Jungle Book was a huge hit in India. After a good opening of 10.09 crores, it went on to earn 188 crores at the Indian box office.
The Lion King is also on a similar success path as The Jungle Book. 170 crore lifetime is a sure shot number from here. It would be interesting to see if it can cross 200 crore mark.
