The Lion King total box office collection in India: Jon Favreau’s ‘The Lion King’ is a blockbuster in India with the collection of 125+ crores in two weeks.
Jon Favreau’s remake of 1994 classic ‘The Lion King’ has emerged a true blockbuster in India. The movie has received tremendous response from the critics and audience.
After a solid opening week, the movie has performed exceptionally well in the second week despite the release of new Bollywood movies. The Lion King remained the first choice of the moviegoers in the last week.
The Lion King had a superb opening week with the collection of 80+ crores. It started the second week on a positive note, earning 5.35 crores on its second Friday.
It witnessed 116.07% growth on its second Saturday and earned 12.22 crores. On its second Sunday, The Lion King witnessed superb growth and raked in 15.13 crores.
After a solid second weekend, the movie witnessed expected drop on second Monday and remained steady throughout the second week. The total collection of ‘The Lion King’ after two weeks stands at 126+ crores.
The Lion King becomes the 6th Bollywood movie to cross 100 crore mark in India. The other five are Avengers: Endgame (365.5 crores), Avengers: Infinity War (222.69 crores), The Jungle Book (188 crores), Fast and Furious 7 (110 crores) and Jurrasic World (101 crores).
With the collection of 126+ crores, The Lion King is now the 4th highest-grossing Hollywood movie in India.
After The Jungle Book, Jon Favreau has delivered yet another VFX and animated masterpiece. He once again managed to connect with the audience owing to superb animation, VFX and emotional content.
The Jungle Book was a huge hit in India. After a good opening of 10.09 crores, it went on to earn 188 crores at the Indian box office.
The Lion King is also on a similar success path as The Jungle Book. As per my prediction, The Lion King total lifetime collection will be in the range of 150-155 crores.
