The ongoing Prophet Muhammad controversy doesn’t seem to come to the halt so far, instead it is getting more and more intense that led to communal violence in different parts of country.

The controversy started when ex-BJP leader Nupur Sharma passed a controversial remark against Prophet Muhammad while giving an interviews to a TV channel, which led to a heavy criticism of India from Muslims of the country and rest of the world.

The Gulf Nations started summoning the Indian envoys in their respective countries over Sharma’s derogatory remark against the Prophet, seeking an open apology from the Indian Government. Following the backlash from the Islamic word the ruling BJP suspended the membership of Nupur Sharma along with Naveen Jindal.

On Friday, June 10, huge protests were witnessed after the prayers in various parts of the country which resulted in violence between mob and Police forces, several got injured and two people were killed.

Due to the ongoing protest, Ranchi and Hawrah have been put under Section 144, while the internet has been suspended in many parts of the country.

Effigy of Nupur Sharma Found Hanging in Belagavi

In a bizarre incident, an effigy of suspended BJP leader Nupur Sharma was also found hanged near the old vegetable market at Fort Road Area of Belagavi in Karnataka on Friday, June 10. Police said that was hanged late on Thursday night and when it came to the notice of cops, it was removed immediately.

After this incident many people from the country as well as BJP condemned the move and came openly in support of Nupur Sharma. Amid these ongoing protests, BJP’s controversial leader and its Member of Parliament (MP) from Bhopal has come out in an open support of Ms. Sharma. In her recent interaction with the media she said that if anybody insults Hindu deities then such people would be told the truth.

On the other side, in Jammu & Kashmir, the majority community observed a shutdown demanding the arrest of 3 BJP leaders including Aashish Sharma, the party’s Youth Wing General Secretary and Ikkjutt Jammu Leaders for allegedly supporting Nupur Sharma and running the hashtag #StandWithNupurSharma. The police have registered an FIR but no arrests have been made so far.
