Kerala has seen persistent rain over the past several days, which has led to uprooted trees and inundated areas. There have been no significant casualties reported in the state. However, after earlier rains, large tracts of paddy fields in Edathua, a hamlet in the Kuttanad region of Alappuzha district, discovered themselves underwater.
Today, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a yellow alert in four districts of Kerala: Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, and Alappuzha. Due to this, Kerala schools were closed today.

In light of the constant rain, the Disaster Management Authority has warned residents at high elevations to exercise increased caution. The district administration has set up 17 relief camps that will offer shelter to approximately 246 individuals.
