Priya did a nursing training program, moved to Yemen, and worked in various private hospitals in Yemen for a few years as a professional nurse. In 2014, her husband and her daughter returned to India due to the financial crisis.
Nimisha Priya’s Death Sentence Reason
Nimisha Priya was sentenced to death in 2018. She was accused of the murder of a Yemeni citizen named Talal Abdo Mahdi. In 2014, she met Talal Abdo Mahdi, and he promised to help her start her own clinic.
As per Yemeni law, to open a business in Yemen, a local citizen can only open a business, and a partnership is required with a local citizen to start any business by a non-citizen. However, their partnership soon came to an end.
Later, Mandi started threatening Priya and wanted to marry her, and he even took away her passport so that she couldn’t leave Yemen. She even filed a complaint against him, and he was arrested in 2016. However, he was released, and he continued threatening her.
In 2017, Priya decided to retrieve her passport from him, and she injected him with sedatives, but he overdosed on the drugs, and due to that, he died. She cut him into pieces and threw them into the water tank, and his colleague, Hanan, helped her with that.
A few days later, Priya was arrested for murder. She was sentenced to death, and Hanan was sentenced to life imprisonment for helping her. Recently, she pleaded with the Supreme Court of Yemen, but they rejected her plea against the death sentence.
