Karnataka Home Minister Araga Jnanendra voiced his displeasure with the behaviour of the two extremely senior bureaucrats following a public altercation and threatened action, alleging a breach of a service regulation.
The two civil servants, Rohini Sindhuri, an IAS officer and Roopa Divakar Moudgil, an IPS (Indian Police Service) officer, got into a social media argument. Many in the Karnataka administration and government were stunned by a public altercation between two senior female executives.
On Sunday, Rohini Sindhuri’s personal images were posted on social media by D. Roopa Moudgil. She said that by distributing her images to male IAS officers, Rohini Sindhuri had broken service regulations. On her Facebook page, D. Roopa posted the images and said that Sindhuri had shared them in 2021 and 2022 with three IAS officers.
The day before, D. Roopa had made a long list of corruption claims against Sindhuri. She asserted that she had voiced her concerns to Chief Secretary Vandita Sharma and Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai of Karnataka.
Who is D Roopa?

D. Roopa, is the managing director of the Karnataka State Handicrafts Development Corporation, resorted to social media to accuse Sindhuri, the commissioner of the Muzrai Department, of a number of “wrongdoings.”
In addition to releasing private images of Sindhuri, Roopa accused the 2009-batch IAS officer of misbehaviour and said that she had shared them with a few male colleagues.

Sindhuri, on the other hand, dismissed the accusations as unfounded and claimed that Roopa, an IPS officer from the 2000 batch, was acting in an unbalanced manner and making such remarks about her out of personal animosity.
According to numerous parts of the Indian Criminal Code, Roopa’s activities constitute misbehaviour and criminal offences, and Sindhuri stated that she will file a lawsuit as a result.

In response to the public altercation, Karnataka Home Minister Araga Jnanendra voiced his unhappiness with Rohini Sindhuri and D. Roopa’s actions and issued a warning, alleging a violation of a service regulation.
He claimed that although the public holds IAS and IPS officers in high regard, Rohini and Roopa’s actions are demeaning and humiliating to those in the civil service.
