A video of a 12-year-old rape victim from Ujjain is circulating on social media. In the video, the minor can be seen seeking help, but nobody is even trying to help her. Social media users are criticizing the people who are avoiding such a heinous crime. A school-going girl can be seen going door to door, and it’s even more shocking to see that no one is giving her a piece of cloth to cover her semi-nude body.
According to the police report, after investigating viral CCTV footage, they identified the victim whose missing complaint was filed on Monday in Jaitwara. Her grandfather confirmed it, saying their daughter had gone to school on Sunday morning but didn’t return, a question also arose as to why she went to school on Sunday. In another report, police said the victim appeared mentally ill.
Who is accused?
As per the latest update in this case, two auto-rickshaw drivers were arrested on 28th September. Bharat Soni is said to be the main accused, he is 24 years old, while 40-year-old Rakesh Malviya was held for destroying evidence, according to Mahakal Police. MP Home Minister Narottham Mishra announced a SIT to probe this crime.
On Thursday, when the police took Bharat Soni to the crime spot to recreate the crime scene, he tried to escape by jumping a wall but was instantly nabbed near Jeevan Khedi, during this he got injured and taken to hospital. Due to this, some media reports also claim that the accused was shot in an encounter. Later, MP CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan also clarified that the accused got injured by himself.
Who is Rahul Sharma, who helped Minor?
When a 12-year-old minor was seeking help, she got raped on Sunday evening when she was returning home from school. CCTV Footage shows that Bharat Soni has been picking up her, and later raped her near Ujjain Railway Station, leaving her unconscious. When the minor regained consciousness, she was injured and semi-nude. She went to the street for help, but no one came to rescue her.
The Hindu priest Rahul Sharma was the one who served the duty as a true civilian, giving his own shawl to cover her body and ensuring that she didn’t need to worry or be afraid of anything. However, the girl was not in a state to speak. Rahul Sharma is the priest at an Ashram on Badnagar Road, which is about 15 km from the main city of Ujjain.
Rahul said that it was around 9:30 AM on Monday when he noticed the minor bleeding and the semi-nude condition, which indicated it was the day after the rape. He came to the rescue and dialed 100.
