Nishtha Tripathi, a 23-year-old student from Babu Banarasi Das (BBD) college in Lucknow, was tragically shot dead. Nishtha’s body was found at a home in Dayal Residency in Lucknow on a Wednesday (20 September 2023 ) night.
In the aftermath of the event, a case of murder under IPC 302 was registered at Chinhat police station. The incident took place at Pathak’s rented house in Chinahat, and a country-made pistol allegedly used in the crime has been recovered by the police.
Who is Suspect in Nishtha Tripathi Murder?
The police claim that the main suspect, Aaditya Pathak, called Nishtha at the Dayal Residency in Lucknow’s Chinhat neighborhood. The sad occurrence took place during a late-night party at the residence. Police also interrogated two other boys who were sleeping in another room at the time of the incident. They are Aditya Shukla and Monu. As per the latest update, the police have given a clean chit to Monu after questioning.
Nishta Tripathi was sent immediately to Lohia Hospital. She could not be revived, though, and the doctors pronounced her dead. A case under Section 302 has been filed, according to the police, and the primary defendant in the case, Aaditya Pathak, has been brought into jail.
The officers reported finding alcohol bottles inside the apartment as well. The authorities are attempting to determine if the shooting was an accident or was carried out as part of a plot. Several other students reportedly took part in the late-night party, according to reports.
According to the police, they are also questioning the other people who were present at the party.

Nishtha was a resident of Hardoi and was pursuing her B.Com Honours from the BBD. According to the police, early on Thursday, they got information from a hospital that a girl with a bullet injury had been brought dead.
A police team rushed to the hospital, identified Nishtha, and contacted her family in Hardoi. As per the information available Nishtha comes from a well-to-do family and her Father is a Bank Manager named Santosh Tripathi. Nishtha’s father has also claimed that his daughter has been killed and this is not an accident.
