Chandrababu Naidu, the EX Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, is being held in judicial detention until September 23. In a pre-dawn operation on Saturday at Nandyala, Naidu was detained for his claimed involvement in the multi-million dollar Skill Development Corporation scam.
Officers knocked on the door of the caravan in which he was sleeping and picked him up. The case relates to the creation of Centers of Excellence (CoE) clusters in the state of Andhra Pradesh, with a Rs. 300 crore estimated project value. The agency representatives also asserted that the state government has suffered a significant loss of more than 300 crores as a result of the suspected fraud.
