The results of the Rajasthan General Elections came out on Sunday, November 3, 2023, and one of the BJP candidates, Diya Kumari, won the Vidyadhar Nagar Assembly seat with a margin of 71,368 votes against Congress’s Sitamran Aggarwal.

Who is Diya Kumari?
Diya Kumari is a member of the Indian Parliament from the Rajasthan parliamentary seat and is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party. Kumari is also the granddaughter of Man Singh II, who was the last ruling Maharaja of the princely state of Jaipur during the British raj in India.
Diya Kumari was born on January 30, 1971, in Jaipur, and presently she is 52 years old. Kumari studied in various schools in Delhi and Jaipur. Diya Kumari completed her graduation from Chelsea School of Arts, London, in 1989 with a diploma in fine arts. Kumari earned an Hon. Doctorate in Philosophy from Amity University of Jaipur.

In 2013, Diya Kumari joined the Bharatiya Janata Party in the presence of then Gujarat CM Narendra Modi, BJP President Rajnath Singh, and former CM of Rajasthan, Vasundhara Raje, in a rally of two lakh people.
Diya Kumari was elected in the 2013 Rajasthan Legislative Assembly election from Sawai Madhopur and became MLA. Later, in 2019, she was again elected as a Member of Parliament to the Lok Sabha from Rajsamand, where she secured 8.58 lakh votes and won by a margin of 5.51 lakh votes.
Diya Kumari has been appointed as a brand ambassador for Save the Girl Child, Government of Rajasthan. It is also believed that Kumari is a billionaire, as she owns and manages various properties, businesses, trusts, and schools. Kumari resides in City Palace, Jaipur.
Diya Kumari even owns the Jaigarh Fort, Amber, and two trusts, the Maharaja Sawai Man Singh Museum Trust and the Jaigarh Public Charitable Trust. She runs two schools, Maharaja Sawai Bhawani Singh School and The Palace School, and three hotels: Hotel Lal Mahal Palace, Jaipur, Rajmahal Palace in Jaipur, and Hotel Jaipur House at Mount Abu.

Diya Kumari was born to Bhawani Singh, a hotelier and decorated Indian Army officer, and Padmini Devi. Diya fell in love with Narendra Singh and married him. Narendra was a common man (non-royal) and a chartered accountant.
Diya’s marriage caused a huge uproar, as marrying a common person was unheard of in royal families. However, Diya’s marriage didn’t work out well, and the couple filed for divorce in 2018.
