A suspected terrorist incident occurred at a convention center in Kalamassery, in the Ernakulam district of Kerala, on October 29, 2023. This incident left at least three persons dead and over fifty injured.
Over 2,000 people had assembled for a “Jehovah’s Witness” convention when multiple explosions, according to witnesses, occurred. According to sources, the preliminary analysis points to a terror strike, especially given the frequency of explosions.

Dominic Martin, a spoken English teacher from Thammanam in the Ernakulam district, has taken responsibility for one of the worst terror attacks in Kerala’s history. Dominic, who was formerly a Jehovah’s member, stated that he carried out the attack because he was unable to steer the religious group in the correct direction.
According to preliminary investigation, Martin worked and resided in Dubai for many years. It was just two months ago that he went back to India to teach English to the natives. It is stated that he is a master at creating electric circuits.

Dominic used to live with his family in Thammanam. Martin used to live with his wife Mini, and the couple has two children: a son and a daughter. As per the information available, Martin’s son is pursuing his studies in the United Kingdom, and his daughter is working at a company in Kochi’s Infopark.
Is Dominic Martin Behind Kerala Blasts?
Dominic planted the device and a gasoline-filled bottle at the convention center, according to police officials. It has also been stated that a remote was used to set off the explosion from a distance. Dominic’s cell phone contains recovered images of the remote.
According to reports, Dominic also claimed that he used YouTube instructions to learn how to manufacture the IED bomb throughout the previous six months. Dominic had prior experience as a foreman, which the police claimed gave him a practical understanding of how to use such devices.
Why did Dominic Martin make the attack?
Dominic released a video, in which he justified the motive behind the act. In the video, he said that six years ago, he made a realization that “the organization was on the wrong track”. Dominic said, “They teach anti-national ideas and I have tried multiple times to rectify this, but none of them were ready to change.
Living in this country, they teach that the country’s people are deplorable and that members should not mingle with them” he added.
