The Indian Politician and the former Minister of Housing of Maharashtra, Jitendra Awhad is in the news for making remarks on Lord Ram. Jitendra Awhad is a Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader and on Wednesday, 3 January 2024 at an event rally in Shirdi, Maharashtra, he made some comments referring, to Lord Ram.
A video of Jitendra Awhad is going viral on social media where the leader was giving a speech in which he stated that Ram is ours and he is of the Bahujan and used to hunt and eat. He added that everyone wants to become vegetarian but they consider Ram as ideal and eat mutton. He was not a vegetarian but a non-vegetarian.
Awhad said that Lord Ram was a Kshatriya and Kshtriyas are non-vegetarians and he stand by what he said as 80% of Indians are non-vegetarian but they are the devotees of Lord Ram. Jitendra’s remarks are creating controversy and people are angry about the derogatory comments.

According to some sources, Jitendra Awhad, the NCP leader at an event in Maharathra said in his speech that Lord Ram was not a vegetarian, he was a non-vegetarian. He questioned the public, Where would anyone living in the forest for 14 years go to find vegetarian food?
“Awhad added that we don’t read history and forget everything in politics. Ram is ours and of us, Bahujans, and used to hunt to eat. The video of Jitendra Awhad went viral and he faced backlash from the public and BJP leaders. One of the BJP leaders Ram Kadam has filed a complaint against Jitendra Awhad and even took to his social media where he criticized the statement.
The Cheif Priest, Acharya Satyendra Das of Shri Ram Janambhoomi Teerth Kshetra has also come forward and claimed Awhad’s statement is false and it is written in our scriptures that he used to eat fruits and our god was always vegetarian. Recently, leader, Jitendra Awhad came forward and issued an apology for the controversy, he stated that if sentiments are hurt, he apologizes and speaks in the flow but he didn’t speak without research.

Jitendra Awhad is an Indian politician, he was born in Maharashtra on 5 August 1963 and presently he is 60 years old. Jitendra Awhad completed his schooling at St. John the Baptist High School, Thane. Awhad was admitted to B.N. Bandodkar College in 1981 with a science background. While pursuing his graduation, he started engaging in political issues.
After completing his graduation, Awhad went to Mumbai University and there he pursued his postgraduation in personnel management. Jitendra Awhad’s parents were Shri Satish Awhad and Smt Lilavati. As per reports, Jitendra Awhad is married to Ruta Awhad, who is a social worker and the daughter of politician, Dutta Samant. the couple has a daughter, Natasha Awhad.
Jitendra Awhad is presently serving as the leader of the opposition in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly. Awhad is a former member of the Legislative Assembly of Maharashtra.
