According to Delhi Police, there is no proof to date supporting claims that Premoday Khakha, a suspended Delhi officer, sexually abused his friend’s little daughter. This is in response to rumours that Khakha’s son or other family members may have also been involved.
The disturbing occurrence of the Premoday Khakha case has shocked the entire country and made people wonder about vulnerable people’s safety and security. Premoday Khakha was detained by the Delhi Police for allegedly assaulting a minor under his supervision.
Premoday Khakha is currently being investigated for raping a young child. It has since come to light that at least four women have previously reported him for sexual harassment. At the Sewa Kutir compound in Kingsway Camp, where Khakha was assigned as superintendent, the complainants were employed at a mental health facility.
Khakha previously worked as an ex-cadre official for the Delhi government’s Women and Child Division. He was a resource trainer on child protection. The Juvenile Justice Act, and the POCSO Act, under which he was recently charged.
Unexpectedly, Premoday, who was a government employee in Delhi, was taken into custody on charges of sexually assaulting his friend’s 12-year-old daughter.
Khakha’s Extended Career in Social Services
Premoday Khakha’s career in public service started in 1998. He was hired by the Delhi Government to work as a Welfare Officer. He was responsible for standing up for the rights and welfare of underrepresented populations, particularly children.
Premoday Khakha has worked in several sectors for over 25 years, including social welfare and women’s and children’s welfare. His social media accounts and official documentation emphasize his commitment to “building relationships to protect humanity.”
Premoday Khakha Officer For Child Protection
Khakha held the position of administrator of a juvenile home, which housed a youngster who was charged in the infamous Nirbhaya case. According to Khakha’s LinkedIn profile, he worked as a resource trainer. Remarkably, he also worked in the Protection of Children From Sexual Offences Act and child protection.
Accusations on Premoday Khakha
Khakha is originally from Hazirabagh in Jharkhand. He was living in Burari’s Shakti Enclave in North Delhi at the time of the alleged case. A terrible occurrence that shocked the entire community when he is charged with drugging and raping the adolescent daughter of a friend.
A formal complaint has been filed by the Delhi Police, Khakha was charged under the IPC and the POSCO Act. Moreover, the wife of the accused was also charged under Section 120-B of the IP at FIR. The accusation against her was that she assisted him in the crime and failed to notify the authorities.
AAP Minister Appointed Premoday Khakha
Delhi Women and Child Development Minister Kailash Gahlot ”handpicked” Khakha, according to Delhi BJP leader Bansuri Swaraj. Khakha was appointed as an Officer on Special Duty (OSD) in the Department of Women and Child Development in March 2022. Delhi Minister Kailash Gahlot requested to appoint Premoday Khakha.
But when Atishi assumed charge of the ministry in March 2023, his position had to adapt. Khakha was consequently relieved of his position. In the women and child development department, he progressed from assistant director to deputy director and finally faced suspension during his tenure.
AAP Questioned BJP
“This horrific crime on a minor girl child shakes the consciousness of our society as a whole,” the AAP questioned. When the Delhi Police filed an FIR on August 13, 2023, the BJP must explain why they did not take the accused into custody right away. Whose pressure allowed the police to protect a police officer who was allegedly so corrupt?
“To look into these serious procedural gaps, we require a thorough investigation. The accused officer was promptly placed under suspension by the Delhi government upon learning about the situation, the statement continued.
The Horrifying Particulars Of Crime
Every time there was a reported sexual assault, the teenage victim was allegedly given drugs beforehand. The case’s specifics present a terrible picture of ongoing assault and deception. The victim once had a frightening experience where she woke up and saw injuries on her body.
Police sources have disclosed that the little girl was experiencing despair when her father passed away in 2020—a fact that is unrelated to COVID-19. The first recorded incident of rape happened on October 31, 2020, according to police reports.
The victim had recently lost her father, thus this occurrence came at a very trying time for her. Days after the accident, her mother trusted Khakha to look after her daughter in Burari after he gave her assurances of safety.
In November 2020 and January 2021, Khakha allegedly sexually assaulted the little girl multiple times. Complicating matters, it is said that his wife, upon learning of the abuse, gave the young girl drugs intended for abortion. After raping, Khakha was charged under the Juvenile Justice Act and the POSCO Act.
Victim’s Mental Health
The victim’s statement to the police exposed a troubling pattern of molestation that happened in Khakha’s home as well as the church. She experienced frequent panic attacks as a result of the sexual assault and the trauma of losing her father.
She had to resign from school after finishing Class IX due to these psychological issues, choosing instead to attend an institution that offers open learning. Additionally, she was probably too traumatized to report the abuse to the police because of this twin trauma.
