Who is Ranveer Brar?
Ranveer was born in Lucknow, Uttarpradesh on Feb 8, 1978, to a Jatt Sikh family to Ishwar Singh and Surinder Kaur. Brar did his schooling from HAL School, Lucknow, and later did a diploma in Hotel Management from the Insitute of Hotel Management, Lucknow.
Ranveer got the inspiration to become a chef, after observing the work of kebab vendors. During his childhood, he often used to visit the local kebab vendors in Lucknow, and when he was 17, Brar met kebab Ustad Munir Ahmed and it was when Ahmed took him under his wing. He realized that culinary art is his true calling.
On the other, Ranveer’s family wanted him to make his career in engineering, medicine or defence services. He even cleared the NDA exam but his love for cooking increased day by day. He finally convinced his parents leading him to join IIHM, Lucknow.

Ranveer belongs to a Jatt Sikh family of farmers. His father’s name is Ishwar Singh, worked at Hindustan Aeronautics Limited. Ranveer’s mother’s name is Surinder Kaur, and his sister’s name is Shalu.
He got married to Indian chef Pallavi on 14 July 2013. Ranveer proposed to Pallavi for marriage while having dinner, which was cooked by Ranveer at Marco Island in Florida. The couple had a Maharashtrian wedding and now they have a son named Ishaan Brar.
Ranveer Brar Career
After completing the diploma, Ranveer began his career at the Taj Mahal Hotel, New Delhi as a kitchen management trainee. And since then he has opened numerous restaurants at several hotels including Taj Palace. He opened Moriso a seafood restaurant at fort Aguada Beach Resort in Goa, an Italian restaurant called Il Camino and a small open-air barbeque eatery named Fishtail.
At the age of 25, he became the youngest executive chef of his time in India. He is also an honorary member of the James Beard House, New York. He then opened a fine franco-Asian restaurant named Banq in Boston, Massachusetts following this, he was appointed corporate chef in one of the oldest restaurant groups in Boston named One World Hospitality Group. He later came back to India and joined Novotel in Mumbai as the senior executive chef.
