Recently former Haryana Cabinet Minister and Emeritus Chairperson of OP Jindal group Savitri Jindal has surpassed China’s Yang Huiyan to became the richest woman in Asia according to Bloomberg Billionaire report.

Savitri Jindal was born on 20 March 1950 and she is an Indian Politician and Businesswomen. Savitri Jindal Married Om Prakash Jindal who was the founder of Jindal Group, a steel and power conglomerate.

Savitri and Om Prakash Jindal together had 9 children. And after Savitri joined the Jindal Group the company made immense progress.

Savitri Jindal’s Political Career

In the year 2005, Savitri Jindal’s Husband Om Prakash Jindal passed away in a helicopter crash and after that she took over her Husband’s company Jindal Group. Savitri Jindal is also a member of Indian National Congress and in the year 2005 Jindal was elected to the Haryana Vidhan Sabha from Hisar, Constituency.

She was re-elected to the constituency and was appointed as the cabinet minister in the Haryana Government 2013. Jindal’s net worth has fluctuated a lot in recent years.

Savitri Jindal Surpasses Yang Huiyan

As of today Savitri Jindal surpassed China’s Yang Huiyan to become the richest woman in Asia, and 10th richest person in Asia. China’s Yang Huiyan has seen a huge dip in her net worth and China’s property crises is the biggest reason for that. Although she slipped from the first position she still maintained the third position in the Bloomberg Billionaire Index.

Jindal’s net worth has fluctuated a lot in recent years. At the start of COVID-19 pandemic the net worth of Jindal fell down to $3.2 billion in April 2020,and  then reached as high as $15.6 billion in April 2022.

The current net worth of Savitri Jindal is 18 Billion which came from conglomerate Jindal Group, which is the third-largest producer of steel in India after Steel Authority Of India Limited (SAIL). Jindal Group also operates in Infrastructure, Energy and cement.
