Swami Prasad Maurya is an experienced politician, who also served as a cabinet minister several times. Swami began his political journey in 1980 when he joined the Janta Dal but resigned in 1996. In the same year, he joined the BSP, where he was instantly appointed as the General Secretary and State Vice President of the BSP Party in UP.
In 2016, Swami Prasad Maurya, who was then an established politician, resigned from the BSP, alleging that the party ran a syndicate called ‘Money for Ticket.’ He also converted to Buddhism in 2016.
