IBPS PO Selection Process 2024: Prelims Exam
The prelims exam is the first stage of the IBPS PO selection process and is qualifying. As per the IBPS PO exam pattern, the prelims exam consists of 100 objective-type questions which are divided into three sections.
The sectional exam timing of the IBPS PO prelims is 20 minutes while the overall time is 60 minutes. The marks from the preliminary exam won’t be added to your final score.

IBPS PO Selection Process 2024: Main Exam
Candidates who pass the preliminary exam will take the IBPS PO main exam. This is an important part of the IBPS selection process, as the marks obtained in the mains will be added to the final merit list.
The IBPS PO main exam consists of both objective and descriptive exams. Candidates get three hours to finish the objective section and thirty minutes to finish the descriptive section. Every wrong answer will result in a 0.25 mark deduction.
The 5 sections include the IBPS PO main exam: general English, quantitative aptitude, reasoning ability, computer awareness, easy English language, and letter writing.

IBPS PO Selection Process 2024: Interview Round
Those who clear the main examination will appear for the IBPS PO interview round. All the participating banks will conduct interviews with candidates in various locations all across the nation.
Candidates must carry the interview call letter and other supporting documents to the interview venue.
The IBPS PO interview lasts for 15 to 20 minutes. Out of 100 marks, candidates have to score 40 marks (for UR) and 35 marks (for reserved categories) to be included in the merit list.
The weighting for the online SBI Clerk main exam and interview will be considered to prepare the final result. The final IBPS PO merit list will be prepared with a weightage ratio of 80:20.
The final cutoff is determined by the number of openings and the highest marks obtained by candidates.

IBPS PO 2024 Provisional Allotment
The IBPS PO seat allotment will be based on the number of active vacancies in a particular bank and the score obtained by the candidates.
The bank will first allot the candidates who have scored higher on the merit list. Candidates can mark their preferred bank in the allotment software.
If seats are available, the bank will assign the candidate; otherwise, the software will consider other preferences indicated by candidates.
If two or more candidates have the same score, the older candidate will be ranked higher than the others.
Depending on the number of applicants, a reserve list for up to 10% of the openings in each category may be created for the post of PO.
