The IBPS has released the IBPS PO Exam Pattern and Syllabus along with the official notification. The IBPS PO syllabus is somewhat similar to other banking exam syllabus.

The selection of candidates is based on three stages: prelims, mains, and interviews. Each stage has a slightly different syllabus and pattern than the others. The detailed exam syllabus for each phase, along with the exam pattern, is provided in the given article.

IBPS PO Exam Pattern 2023 for Mains

The IBPS PO Exam Pattern 2023 for Mains consists of objective and descriptive questions. The exam will consist of 157 questions worth 225 points, with a negative mark of 0.25 for each incorrect answer. Candidates will have 3 hours to complete the objective section, which includes MCQs. Candidates will have 30 minutes for the descriptive phase, which includes writing an essay and a letter.

The IBPS PO mains syllabus includes the following subjects: English language, reasoning and computer aptitude, data analysis and interpretation, general economics, and banking awareness.

IBPS PO 2023 Interview

The IBPS PO Interview consists of 100 marks, and candidates need to score a minimum of 40% in general and 35% in reserved categories to clear this round. The participating organization will conduct the interview, and the nodal bank will help coordinate it with assistance from IBPS in each state or UT.

In the interview round, the Candidates will be judged based on their educational qualifications, experience, and work background.

  • IBPS PO Online Main Exam and interview weighting (ratio) will be 80:20, respectively.
  • The interview panel comprises 4–5 people, including a psychologist and senior bankers.
  • The interview typically lasts for 15 to 20 minutes.
  • The interviewer will ask questions related to the candidate’s profile, educational qualifications, experience, interests, accomplishments, etc.
  • Questions related to banking awareness, current affairs, and general knowledge can be asked in this round.
