RBI Assistant 2023 Preparation Strategy: Every year, the Reserve Bank of India, India’s central bank and regulatory authority, conducts an examination for the recruitment of RBI Assistant Post, which is one of the most difficult and highest paid jobs in the country.

The RBI Assistant 2023 recruitment examination is a golden opportunity for those wishing to make their career in the banking sector. Every year, thousands of candidates apply for the RBI Assistant post; therefore, competition is always very high.

So before starting their preparation, candidates must be well-aware of important details like the RBI Assistant 2023 selection process, eligibility criteria, syllabus, exam pattern, exam preparation strategy, etc.

RBI Assistant 2023 Selection Process

The RBI Assistant 2023 Selection Process has three stages, and with each stage, candidates are shortlisted. The ones who successfully qualify at every stage get the provisional allotment in the Reserve Bank of India’s various branches across the country.

RBI Assistant 2023 Exam Pattern- Phase I & Phase II

The RBI Assistant 2023 Exam Pattern is divided into two written examinations, i.e., Preliminary Examination and Mains Examination. There will be a penalty of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer in both examinations.

The RBI Assistant 2023 Preliminary Examination is the first stage of the selection process to shortlist candidates for the next stage.

Language Proficiency Test (LPT)

Candidates who successfully qualify mains examination must go through a language Proficiency Test (LPT) in order to get the final selection. The LPT will be conducted in the local/official language of the state or Union Territory from which they’ve applied.

RBI Assistant 2023 Subject- Wise Preparation Tips

The candidates who’ve applied for RBI Assistant 2023 must follow the subject-wise preparation tips so that they can do their preparation smartly and more efficiently.

English Language

  • This section comprises 30 marks in the preliminary examination and 40 marks in the main examination. If you are well prepared for it, then it will help you score good marks.
  • If you do English newspaper reading on a daily basis, then this section is not going to be very tough for you. Instead, you will score good marks in it.
  • Aside from reading newspapers, candidates should focus on making their vocabulary and grammar-based concepts strong.
  • In this section, practising reading comprehension on a daily basis will be beneficial.

Reasoning Ability

  • This is one of the time consuming sections that assesses your analytical and logical skills. It consists of 35 questions in the preliminary examination and 40 questions in the main examination.
  • The maximum number of questions are asked about seating arrangements and puzzles. So, students must practise at least 2–3 puzzles on a daily basis to make this topic strong.
  • Aside from puzzles, other important topics in this section are order & ranking, coding-decoding, data sufficiency, alphanumeric series, blood relation, input & output, etc.

Quantitive Aptitude

  • The Quantitive Aptitude section is the another time-consuming section which needs consistent practice. It consists of 35 questions in the preliminary exam and 40 questions in the main exam.
  • This section requires candidates to get their basic concepts correct and clear in order to score well.
  • Once you have mastered all of the fundamental concepts, you should take daily quizzes on topics such as quadratic equations, number series, simplification, and miscellaneous such as profit and loss, average, time and distance, time and work, simple interest and compound interest, and so on.
  • Data interpretation is the most important topic, which requires a lot of practice. Candidates need to practise at least 3–4 DIs on a daily basis to have a good command of and score well in Quant.

General Awareness

  • General Awareness is the highest-scoring section and is only asked in the main examination of the RBI Assistant Exam. It consists of 40 questions worth one mark each.
  • In this section, questions are asked about national and international current affairs, government schemes and initiatives, sports, books & authors, banks/RBI related terms and news, monetary & fiscal politics, etc.
  • You must thoroughly prepare for all these topics. This section will be the most beneficial to your overall score.

Computer Knowledge

  • The Computer Knowledge section comprises 40 questions, each worth one mark.
  • The questions cover topics like the basics of computers, the history of computers, networking fundamentals, programming languages, networking, etc.
  • The best way to have a good command of this section is to preview previous year’s questions, which will give you a general idea of the type of questions being asked.

The candidates who’ve applied for RBI Assistant 2023 must follow these tips to ace their preparation for the examination.

1- Understand the Syllabus

Before starting your examination, you must have a proper knowledge of the RBI Assistant 2023 Syllabus. The syllabus for RBI Assistant remains the same every year, and there are hardly any changes to it. So having a better understanding of the syllabus will ease your preparation.

      Yes, there is negative marking in the RBI Assistant exam. 1/4th marks are deducted for wrong answers in both prelims and mains exams. The total marks of candidates are calculated based on the number of correct and incorrect responses after applying a penalty for wrong answers.
