Earlier, the SSC used to conduct a 3-tier examination for the SSC CHSL Exam. But as per the latest updates, the SSC CHSL 2023 selection process now includes only a two-tier written examination followed by document verification.

Nationality
Apart from Indian citizens, all the candidates have to provide valid documents/certificates issued by the concerned authority under the government of India. Candidates who belong to the following nations are eligible to appear for the exam if they have valid documents::
- Citizen of India
- Citizens of Bhutan and Nepal
- The Tibetan refugees who come to India for permanent settlement before 1 January 1962.
- India organ people who migrated from Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Burma, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Vietnam, Ethiopia, Zambia, Malawi, and Zaire to settle permanently in India.
Age Limit
Candidates should be aware that the SSC will only accept the date of birth information from the Matriculation/Secondary Examination Certificate available on the date the application is submitted.
- Candidates who match the age limit as per the eligibility requirement can apply for the exam. The lower age limit for candidates should be less than 18 years.
- The upper age limit for candidates is 27 years. The candidates who belong to the “reserved” category will get the age relaxation as per the GOI.
