A Postal Assistant/Sorting Assistant carries out many tasks throughout the day. He/she is responsible for sorting and dispatching mails, and maintaining speed post records. Other than that, they are responsible for handling and solving customer queries.
After completing 5 years of service, an employee has to take the Postmaster Grade I examination for promotion to the posts of supervisor (LSG), Senior Supervisor and Chief Supervisor (HSS).
Data Entry Operator (DEO)
A Data Entry Operator should be proficient in computer work and working in software like MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. They are given responsibilities like typing, handling computer work.
After completing certain departmental examinations, a candidate could be promoted to Data Entry Operator Grade B, Grade C and Grade F.

The candidates selected for various posts via the SSC CHSL 2023 examination will be paid a salary based on the city in which they’ve been given a posting.
The Staff Selection Commission has divided the cities into three categories: City X, City Y, and City Z. Depending on the city in which the employee has been posted, the basic salary, perks, and allowances will be provided to him/her.
- City X: The cities that have a population of more than fifty lakh
- City Y: The cities that have a population between five and fifty lakh

SSC CHSL 2023 Salary: Perks & Allowances

1- House Rent Allowance (HRA)
The house rent allowance is provided as per the category of the city in which he/she has been posted. The HRA given to City X, City Y, and City Z is as follows:

2- Dearness Allowance

It is provided to employees to facilitate their daily travel needs. The employees posted in cities will get Rs. 3600 as the travel allowance, while those posted in other posts will get Rs. 1800 as TA.
4- Leave Travel Concession (LTC)
The employees selected for SSC CHSL will be entitled to Leave Travel Concession or LTC, provided by the central government. It is the allowance given to employees to travel to their hometowns or other parts of the country.
