SSC JE 2023 Application Process
The application process is divided into two parts: online registration and an online application form. The SSC JE 2023 Apply Online link will be active after the release of the application. Candidates can follow the given steps to complete their application.
- Open the official website of the Staff Selection Commission at ssc.nic.in.
- In the login section of the homepage, click on the “Register Now” option.
- Complete our registration with a valid email ID and password, and update the Adhar enrollment number as confirmation ID proof.
- Now fill in the details on your application form.
- Upload required documents such as passport-size photos ( 20 KB to 50 KB) and signatures (10 KB to 20 KB).
- Submit your application and pay the applicable charges.
SSC JE 2023 Selection Process
The SSC JE 2023 Selection Process comprises 2 stages of written examination followed by document verification.
- Paper 1 Exam
- Paper 2 Exam
- Document verification.
Paper 1 is an online written examination conducted via CBT mode, whereas Paper 2 is a descriptive exam conducted offline via pen and paper mode. Only those candidates who clear all three stages of the exam will be appointed as junior engineers.
Paper 1
The first phase of the exam consists only of objective-type questions, as mentioned above. Paper 1 is conducted only via online mode. The exam consists of 3 sections with a total of 200 marks.
General reasoning and intelligence, general awareness, and general engineering (civil/electrical/mechanical) are the three sections of the exam. There is a negative marking in this exam. Time duration for the exam 2 hours.
Paper 2
Those applicants who meet the required cutoff from the paper 1 exam will appear for paper 2, which is conducted offline. Paper 2 consists of descriptive-type questions. The exam consists of 300 marks and candidates will have two hours to finish the entire paper.
The log table, slide rule, calculator, and stream table may be brought by candidates. Note that there will be no negative marking in the exam.
Document Verification
Candidates who pass both written exams will be invited to the DV round. The DV is the final stage of the selection. Candidates are advised to bring their original documents along with the photocopies. The list of required documents is mentioned below.

SSC JE 2023 Admit Card
The staff selection commission will issue the admit card online for SSC JE 2023 Recruitment Exam. Eligible candidates who have completed their registration can access their admit cards via the SSC’s official website or regional websites. The admit card will be released region-wise.

SSC JE 2023 Result & Cut-off

Salary
The Junior Engineer is a group B non-gazetted post. Candidates selected for this post will get a salary of a candidate will be Rs.44,000(approx.) with grade pay of Rs.4200 including the HRA, DA, TA, Education, and other allowances. The candidates will get a salary based on a seventh compensation commission which is Rs.35,000 to Rs.11,24000. Note that the salary of candidates may vary depending on where they are posted.
