SSC JHT 2023 Eligibility Criteria: The Staff Selection Commission will soon release the official notification of the SSC JHT 2023 Recruitment on its official website, www.ssc.nic.in. Along with the release of the notification, it will also open the online application window for the examination.
The SSC JHT examination is conducted annually by the commission for the recruitment of Group “B” non-gazetted posts of Junior Hindi Translators, Junior Translators, Senior Hindi Translators in various Ministries, Departments and Organisations of the Government of India.

As per the guidelines of the Staff Selection Commission, the SSC JHT 2023 Selection Process consists of two stages, followed by the Document Verification round.

Candidates must be well-informed about the SSC JHT 2023 Eligibility Criteria before applying for the recruitment. It depends on the components, including Educational Qualification, nationality, age group, age relaxation, etc.
Nationality
To be eligible for the SSC JHT 2023 examination, the candidates must to be either a citizen of India, OR
- A subject of Nepal, OR
- A subject of Bhutan, OR
- A Tibetan refugee who migrated to India before January 1, 1962, OR
- A person who migrated from Pakistan, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, and East African countries including Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Malawi, Zambia, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam
- The candidates, other than Indian citizens, must possess a certificate of eligibility issued in their favour by the Government of India.
Educational Qualification
The Educational Qualification for the SSC JHT 2023 examination vary from post to post. The post-wise educational qualification will be evaluated as on the date mentioned in the official notification of the SSC JHT 2023.
For Postcodes “A” to “D” (Junior Hindi Translator/Junior Translator in various Central Government Ministries/Departments/Offices):
- Master’s Degree of a recognised University in Hindi with English as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of the examination at the degree level, OR
- Master’s Degree of a recognised University in English with Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of the examination at the degree level, OR
- Master’s Degree of a recognised University in any subject other than Hindi or English, with English medium and Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level, OR
- Master’s Degree of a recognised University in any subject other than Hindi or English, with Hindi medium and English as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level, OR
- Master’s Degree of a recognised University in any subject other than Hindi and English, with Hindi and English as compulsory or elective subjects, or either of the two as a medium of examination and the other as a compulsory or elective subject at degree level.

- Recognised Diploma or Certificate courses in translation from Hindi and English & vice-versa or two years’ experience of translation work from Hindi to English and vice versa in Central or State Government Offices, including Government of India Undertakings.
For Postcode “E” (Senior Hindi Translator in various Central Government Ministries/Departments/Offices):
- Master’s Degree of a recognised University in Hindi with English as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of the examination at the degree level, OR
- Master’s Degree of a recognised University in English with Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of the examination at the degree level, OR
