The selection of candidates will be based on a two-stage examination process that includes an online exam followed by document verification. Note that there is an additional round for the MTS Havaldar post which is conducted to check the physical fitness of candidates.

The first stage of the selection process is conducted online via a computer-based examination that consists only of objective multiple-choice questions. The CBT exam is divided into two sessions. Each session has two sections which are mandatory to attempt.
Candidates should note that the marks obtained in this round will be used while preparing the merit list. There is negative marking of 1 mark for each incorrect answer. The commission will release the state-wise cut-off.

SSC MTS 2023 PET/PST for Havaldar
Candidates who have applied for the MTS Havaldar post in CBIC and CBN will appear for the PET/PST round after qualifying the CBT round. Both male and female candidates will take part in this round. Candidates physical strength and fitness will be evaluated in this round. Candidates who don’t meet the physical standard will be disqualified.
