SSC Stenographer 2023 Eligibility Criteria: The SSC Stenographer examination is conducted every year by the SSC or Staff Selection Commission for the recruitment of the selected candidates for the post of Stenographer Grade “C” and Grade “D”.
The Commission will release the official notification of the SSC Stenographer 2023 Recruitment on August 2, 2023. With the release of the notification, the online application window will also be opened. Candidates who are interested in applying for the post must review the eligibility requirements in order to avoid rejection in the final selection.
SSC Stenographer 2023 Selection Process
As per the guidelines of the Staff Selection Commission, the SSC Stenographer 2023 Selection Process consists of three stages. It is important for candidates to know all the stages and prepare accordingly in order to get the final selection.

SSC Stenographer 2023 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must be well-informed about the SSC Stenographer 2023 Eligibility Criteria before applying for the recruitment. It depends on the components including Educational Qualification, nationality, age group, age relaxation, etc.
To be eligible for the SSC Stenographer 2023 examination, the candidates need to be either a citizen of India or:
- A subject of Nepal, or
- A subject of Bhutan, or
- A Tibetan refugee who migrated to India before January 1, 1962, or
- A person who migrated from Pakistan, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, and East African countries including Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Malawi, Zambia, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam
- The candidates, other than Indian citizens, must possess a certificate of eligibility issued in their favour by the Government of India.
Candidates must have passed Class 12 or an equivalent examination from a recognised board to be eligible for SSC Stenographer 2023. Candidates who haven’t acquired the essential qualifications are not eligible to apply for the recruitment.
Candidates must be well aware of the age limit for the SSC Stenographer recruitment before registering for the examination. The age limit for SSC Stenographer for Group C and Group D is given below:

Number of Exam Attempts
According to the guidelines of the Staff Selection Commission, the SST Stenographer examination doesn’t have any limit regarding the number of attempts. The candidates can take it as many times as possible while fulfilling the other criteria.
