Rishabh Rajendra Pant, a well know Indian left-handed batsman and a Wicketkeeper. He was born on 4th October 1997, in Haridwar, Uttarakhand. He plays for the Indian Cricket Team and is often called as next Mahendra Singh Dhoni because of his Wicket keeping skills and aggressive batsmanship.
Early Life
Rishabh Pant did his schooling at The Indian Public School, Dehradun, and did his college education from Venkateswara College, Delhi University.
Rishabh Pant use to travel with his mother to Delhi during the weekends to perform training under Tarak Sinha at the Sonnet Cricket Academy at the age of 12. Sinha who was his trainer advised him to switch to Rajasthan to play U-13 and U-15.
Rishabh Pant’s career turning point came was the time when he played the U-19 cricket for Delhi against Assam. Rishabh Pant was the top scorer with 35 and hit 150 in the second innings which he says was the most important inning of his career.
Beginning of Career
On 22nd Oct 2015, Rishabh Pant made his First debut in the Ranji trophy, and on 23rd December 2015, he debuted in the list -A Vijay Hazare Trophy. In Ranji Trophy, while playing a match against Maharashtra in 2016-17, Pant scored 308 runs in an innings and he became the third Indian player to score three centuries in an inning. Rishabh Pant scored the fastest century in the Ranji Trophy on 8th November 2018 in just 48 balls and he was playing for Delhi’s match against Jharkhand.
Then Pant was named as Delhi’s captain for the 2016-17 Vijay Hazare Trophy in Feb 2017. Previously, Gautam Gambhir was leading later Rishabh Pant took over from him. Bhaskar Pillai, Delhi’s coach said it was a “consensus decision” to choose Rishabh Pant for the future.
International Career
Rishabh Pant was named in India’s T20I squad for their series against England in January 2017. On 1st Feb 2017, He made his debut for the Indian cricket team in the third T20I against England at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru. At the age of 19 years and 120 days, he was the youngest player for India to debut in a T20I match.
He was selected in India’s Test match squad for the series against England in July 2018. Pant scored his maiden Test century, against England on 11th September 2018. Pant became the second-youngest Wicket – Keeper and also the first Indian wicket-keeper to score a Test century in England in the same month, he was selected in India’s ODI squad for their series to play against West Indies. on 21st October 2018, He made his ODI debut for India against the West Indies.
Family & Personal Life
Rishabh Pant was born in a kumaoni pandit family. His father’s name is Rajendra pant and his mother’s name is Saroj pant. He has an elder sister, Sakshi pant. His rumored girlfriend’s name is Isha Negi and she is an Entrepreneur and Interior Decor designer.
Rishabh is a Champion player and he has played for Delhi Daredevils when his father was expired just before the match. He is a star player and the Indian Cricket team looks forward to him for future matches.
