Parents Day is a very special day for thanking parents all around the world for their contribution and unconditional love.
Although we can never thank our parents enough for the amount of hardships and struggles they face, children can never pay back what their parents have done for them.
Parents are the first friend, teacher and a mentor to the child, parents always try to provide the best of everything to their child.
Why do we celebrate Parents Day?
Parents day is celebrated to promote awareness regarding parenthood for positive development in children. Everybody from Parents, children, teachers to government organisations unitedly celebrate this day to promote effective parenting.
There are various campaigns and programs are widely conducted by government and private organisations for parents to encourage peace and stability in the families.
Parents Day 2022
Different countries in the world celebrate Parents day on different dates but In India we celebrate Global Parents Day as National Parents Day on the fourth Sunday of July and in 2022, Parents day will be observed on 24th July.
Korea celebrates Parents day on 8th May every year and Vietnam celebrates it on 7th July.

History of Parents Day
In the 1980s, the United Nations started focusing on issues that were related to the family and mental well-being of a child. On 9 December 1989, the UN General Assembly passed a resolution in which they announced the year 1994 as the International Year of the Family.
15 May 1993 was selected as the International Day of Families. And in 2012, the General Assembly dedicated the Global Day of Parents to appreciate all parents in a resolution A/RES/66/292.
It was recognized that it’s the primary duty of parents to nurture and protect their children for Better and balanced development of the child. And children should grow in a family environment that can provide them care, love and Happiness.
How to celebrate Parents Day?
Every child should try to do something special for their Parents like:
- Taking them out to their favorite Restaurant.
- Spend a day and let them share what they have to say.
- Clean the house and give them rest.
- Look at the old family pictures and videos.
- Pamper them with Love and Gifts.
- Cook their favourute food.
- Take them for a movie.
