Ajay Bhupathi directorial Maha Samudram is a multi starrer film that hits the theatres on 14 Oct. It is Ajay’s second film after his cult buster Rx 100, which was commercially a hit at the box office, grossing Rs 30 crores worldwide.
Sunil Shetty’s son Ahan Shetty is playing the lead role in its Hindi remake ‘Tadap’ which is going to hit theatres in Dec this year, this is the debut film for Ahan, Tara Sutaria is lady love of him in the film.
Earlier a lot of stars like Naga Chaitanya, Bellamkonda Sreenivas, and Samantha Akkineni were considered for the film’s main lead but were further replaced by Siddarth, Sharwanand, Anu Emmanuel. It is a romantic action thriller genre film.
Siddharth is making his grand entry again in Telugu cinema after 8 years. His last film was Jabardasth in 2013, where he shared the screen with the popular South Indian actress Samantha Akkineni (Samantha Ruth Prabhu then).
Maha Samudram Release Date (OTT)
The film was initially scheduled to release on 9 Aug 2021 but got postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic in India. In Aug 2021, the makers announced that the movie will be released on 14 Oct. 2021. The cinematography of the film was handled by Raj Thota.
After theatrical release, the film has been released on OTT platform Netflix, almost after one month.

Chaitan Bharadwaj has given the music in the film. There are two lyrical songs of the film which have been released on the Sony Music South official YouTube channel.
- Cheppake Cheppake, which is penned by Chaitanya Prasad and sang by Deepthi Parthasarathy
- Rambha Rambha, lyrics written by Bhaskar Bhatia and sung by composer Chaitan Bharadwaj himself.

Film’s shooting commenced on 7 Dec 2020 and ended on 9 July 2021. Reportedly the makers have finished the post-production of the film. Seeing the ensemble star cast of the film like Siddharth, Anu Emmanuel, Aditi Rao Hydari, Jagapatthi Babu, Sharwanand, the expected budget of this romantic thriller would be around 45 to 50 crores.
