Andhra Pradesh secures 75% jobs for locals, become first Indian state to do so

Andhra Pradesh secures 75 per cent jobs for locals in all industries

Andhra Pradesh becomes the first Indian state to reserve 75 per cent jobs for the local youth. If the youth are not found skilled by the companies here, then they’ll need to train them in association with the state government as per the new law.

The youth of Andhra Pradesh are celebrating this victorious moment as finally, the State Cabinet has approved a bill wherein 75 per cent of the jobs will be provided to the locals in various industries.

The assembly passed the Andhra Pradesh Employment of Local Candidates in Industries/Factories Act, 2019 which reserves 75 per cent jobs in factories, joint ventures, industrial units and projects set up under public-private partnership mode.

The Cabinet meeting was held under the chairmanship of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. This bill will also guarantee a job to the people who often lose their land due to industrial development.

Now Andhra Pradesh government will provide 75 per cent of the jobs for the local unemployed, and this will also help in strengthening the job oriented training programs.

The government has further said that it will generate mass employment and workshops will be organized to set up the ancillary units.

The Chairman of CII Visakhapatnam further said that all the industries, including the MNC’s, will have to follow the norms set by the government where they need to focus on developing the skill of the youth.

However, because of the unavailability of the manpower in the IT and technology sector, there can be some hindrance in implementing these norms.

The government is trying; it’s best to train the youth in the right way so that the companies can find the maximum potential in the local people rather than hiring people from other parts of India.

This is considered to be a great achievement of Andhra Pradesh CM Jagan Mohan Reddy as he had promised to provide quota to youth in the local jobs during his padayatra as an election promise and now he has finally been able to complete his promise.
