In a face-saving measure, state BJP has decided to show its own controversial and suspended MLA Kunwar Pranav Singh Champion the exit doors.
Senior party leader and former chief minister of MP Shivraj Singh Chauhan has confirmed this report. During an interaction with the press at Haridwar on wednesday, he said that the state BJP has sent a letter to its central leadership to expel the MLA from the party.
This recommendation awaits approval from party headquarters at Delhi. BJP’s national vice president and Uttarakhand in-charge Shyam Jaju also said that a letter to this effect has been sent to the party’s central command and now it is up to them to take a final decision.
Earlier, state party leaders had unanimously passed a resolution to dismiss Champion from the party. Party sources say that the expulsion of the MLA from the BJP is almost final now.

Party has been forced to take this decision after a video going viral on Tuesday wherein Champion is seen openly brandishing arms and guns in his hands and speaking filthy and abusive language about Uttarakhand and its residents.
Earlier also on several occasions, he had landed his party in trouble with his objectionable actions and statements. Party was facing flak and wide criticism for his doings.
Prior to it, BJP’s Rajya Sabha MP and party’s national media incharge Anil Balooni had given indications of any drastic action against Champion.
Now that his expulsion is almost inevitable, speculations are rife that Champion may join BSP. If a case is registered against him, he may land in serious trouble.
