Veterinary Doctor Priyanka Reddy charred body found at Bengaluru-Hyderabad Highway

Hyderabad’s veterinary Priyanka Reddy was raped and charred to death after her scooty broke down. The police found her dead body beneath the Chatanpally bridge near Hyderabad-Bengaluru highway.

The 26 year old Priyanka Reddy felt ‘unsafe’ as she saw two men approaching her to help with the scooter. She was also on the phone with her sister P Bhavya Reddy who sensed something fishy.

The sisters talked for six minutes and forty-five seconds until 9:22 pm. P Bhavya had suggested Priyanka to drop her scooty at the plaza and come back home but Priyanka didn’t listen. Instead, she hit the road on a scooty with a flat tyre. The strange men forced her for help but Priyanka tried to shoo them away. Priyanka’s was phone turned off at 9:44 pm.

The police found Priyanka’s dead body on Thursday morning at a distance of about 30 kms from her scooty. The police located her charred body at Chatanpally bridge near Shadnagar town in the Ranga Reddy district. According to the reports, the scooty was recovered from Kotturu area that is nearly 15-20 kms from Shamshabad. Some other belongings of the deceased were also found from the area. They found a partly burnt scarf and a gold pendant which confirmed the dead body to be Priyanka’s.

As per police reports, they found a pair of footwear, undergarments, a purse and an empty alcohol bottle at an open plot near the toll plaza which confirmed the crime of rape. Currently, the police have detained two men from Anantpur area for investigations. One of them is a driver and the other one is a cleaner. The police department has deployed 10 teams of police officers to accelerate the investigations and bring justice to Priyanka Reddy.

Priyanka had gone for work in Gachibawli as she had parked her scooter at the ORR toll plaza at Tondupally to get her scooter. She returned Thursday evening to collect the scooter which broke down accidentally.

Priyanka felt scared as she walked the highway alone at night. Priyanka’s family lodged an FIR after her was switched off and she didn’t return home until late Wednesday night. Around 30 km from the toll plaza, a farmer noticed a charred body of a woman underneath a culvert at Chatanpally village of Shadnagar mandal. He alerted the police who confirmed it was Priyanka’s dead body.
