The first female-led superhero film in the MCU, Captain Marvel, is having a dream run at the Indian box office. After a superb opening weekend with the collection of 40.71 crores, it witnesses a drop of 55% on Monday. This drop is acceptable as the movie over-performed in the first weekend. As per early estimates, Captain Marvel 4th day box office collection would be around 6 crores.

After registering the second opening for a Hollywood movie in India, Captain Marvel remained strong throughout the weekend. After a 13.1 crore opening, it earned 14.1 cr and 13.6 cr on Saturday and Sunday respectively. Thus, it earned 40.71 crores in the first weekend,
The first weekend collection of Captain Marvel is fourth highest of 2019 after Gully Boy (72.45 crores), Total Dhamaal (62.4 crores) and Manikarnika (41.35 crores).

Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) has a huge fan following in India. Captain Marvel was expected to post good numbers, however, it over-performed in the first weekend. With around 6 crores coming on Monday, the total collection of Captain Marvel after four days stands at 46.71 crores.
Despite mixed reviews and WOM, Captain Marvel is sustaining well at the box office, probably because of its connection with Avengers End Game.
Talking about the worldwide collection, Captain Marvel brings in $455 million in the first weekend. Its worldwide opening weekend is the sixth largest in history, according to Box Office Mojo, and the second largest for a Marvel film after 2018’s Avengers: Infinity War.
