Rahul Gandhi said he will now engage in the ‘ideological fight’ with BJP and RSS with 10 times more vigour than he did during the last five years.
Rahul Gandhi has been granted bail in connection to the defamation case which was filed against him in 2017. The entire case alleged that he forcefully linked BJP-RSS ideology with the murder of journalist Gauri Lankesh.
Rahul Gandhi who has announced his resignation from the position of the Congress President publically was granted bail on a hefty surety amount of Rs 15,000. The entire case was going on in Mazgaon Metropolis Magistrate court.
MP Eknath Gaikwad was seen paying the surety amount for Rahul. The whole incident occurred when RSS Swayam Sevak Dhrutiman Joshi filed a defamation case against Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Sitaram Yechury and the other members of the Communist party.
He alleged that all of them had passed statements following Gauri Lankesh’s death that has defamed RSS. Gauri Lankesh was a senior journalist who was murdered in Bengaluru at her residence on 5 September 2017.
Later a summon was issued by Mazgaon court to Yechury and Rahul to question them in connection with the whole incident. The court dismissed the complaint against CPM and Sonia.
In the complaint, it was mentioned that within 24 hours of Lankesh’s murder Rahul criticized the RSS and put the blame on them that those who speak against RSS and BJP ideology are attacked, beaten or even killed.
Rahul had a brief conversation with the reporters after his hearing ended where he said that he is truly enjoying the fight, and he has no fear of the attacks on him that are continuously going on.
He even said that he supports all the farmers and poor families and will continue fighting for them whatever the scenario is.
In this battle of ideology, Rahul seems to be all prepared to show that these attacks don’t matter to him and with time, he has learnt how to deal with these types of incidents.
