The results of the Gujarat Assembly Election 2022, which was held from December 1 to 5, 2022, are out, and the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party has again taken the lead in the home state of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The elections were conducted in two phases to elect 182 members and were fought between the BJP, the Indian National Congress, and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).
The BJP has broken all records with its landslide victory, leading in 150+ of 182 seats, followed by the Congress and AAP. The latter, instead of taking a pie from the BJP, has eaten Congress’s share. This is the BJP’s seventh straight victory in the state, following victories in 1995, 1998, 2002, 2007, 2012, and 2017.
Meanwhile, India’s star cricket all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja’s wife Rivaba Jadeja, who contested from the Jamnagar Noth constituency on the BJP ticket, has also emerged as the winner.
The BJP had dropped sitting MLA Dharmendrasinh Jadeja in order to give a ticket to Rivaba, who exceeded the party’s expectations by winning by a large margin.
Rivaba Jadeja Age & Education
Rivaba was born on September 2 (Not confirmed), 1990, to a businessman named Hardev Singh Solanki and a Indian Railways employee, Prafullaba Solanki, in Rajkot, Gujarat. She did her graduation in mechanical engineering from Atmiya University, Rajkot, Gujarat.
Raviba Jadeja Marriage
In 2016, she tied the knot with India’s star cricketer Ravindra Jadeja, and the couple was blessed with a daughter in 2017. Later, in 2019, she joined the Bharatiya Janata Party in Gujarat.
Journey from Being a Cricketer-Wife to Becoming an MLA
While her husband aggressively campaigned for her in the election, it was not an easy task for her to win the election, as many of her family members, including her father-in-law Anirudhsinh Jadeja and her sister-in-law Naynaba Jadeja, have been staunch Congress supporters.
Not only on her in-law’s side but also on her parent’s side, there were many people who have been associated with the Congress Party for years. Her uncle, Hari Singh Solanki, is a popular Congress leader.
Despite, all these hurdles, the 32-year-old has turned out to be a winner from Jamnagar North Seat. A total of 11 candidates contested this seat in the 15th Gujarat Assembly Elections.
Rivaba Jadeja Winning Margin
Rivaba won by a huge margin, taking a more than 50,000-vote lead on her nearest rival, AAP’s Karsan Karmur.
