1- During an interview, Emraan Hashmi once committed that he had an affair with a married woman. However, he mentioned that he didn’t know that she was married but didn’t stop when he found out either. Emraan said that he knew that he was doing wrong but kept on going until they were caught redhanded and had a showdown.
2- Emraan Hashmi started dating Parveen Shahani before he entered Bollywood as an actor and had a 10 years strong relationship before they decided to get married. However, both Emraan and Parveen are shy of public appearances and their nikaah was a private affair as well and was attended by close friends and relatives only. Ever since then Emraan Hashmi has been a faithful husband and irrespective of his onscreen characters, he is clean of relationship rumours in the glamour world.

Journey To Stardom
Born in the family of actors and producers, Emraan was keen on making a career in Bollywood. After struggling to find a career, Emraan decided to assist his uncle Mahesh Bhatt in the movie Raaz, but Mahesh Bhatt convinced him to act instead and offered him a role in Footpath. Emraan Hashmi made his acting debut with crime thriller Footpath alongside Bipasha Basu and Aftab Shivdasani. The movie didn’t perform well at the box office but Emraan’s performance was praised by critics.
The next year, Emraan appeared in Mukesh Bhatt’s production Murder alongside Mallika Sherawat and Ashmit Patel. The movie was a financial success and Emraan again proved his acting potential. His next series of movies like Tumsa Nahin Dekha, Kalyug, Awarapan, Good Boy Bad Boy, The Killer, Dil Diya Hai and Aksar didn’t mint at the box office but again Emraan’s performances were praised by critics and fans alike.
Emraan Hashmi made a comeback in the year 2008 with a crime romance movie Jannat opposite Sonal Chauhan. The movie was a commercial success and Emraan, earlier known for erotic roles, entered top league of actors. He next appeared in supernatural thriller Raaz- The Mystery Continues which was a commercial hit as well.
Emraan Hashmi went on to produce super hit performances and gave successful movies like Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai, Murder 2, The Dirty Picture, Jannat 2, Humari Adhuri Kahani and Why Cheat India.

Controversies
1- Emraan Hashmi attracted controversy when he couldn’t his mouth on a chat show with Karan Johar and said Aishwarya Rai to be plastic, Aamir Khan to be boring and Imran Khan to be overrated.
2- Emraan Hashmi is known for his punctuality and when his costar Kirti Kharbanda was 30 minutes late for the promotions of the movie Raaz-Reboot, he lost his cool. Emraan had an argument with his manager which resulted in an ugly spat between his team and Kirti’s team. Both actors avoid each other ever since.
3- Emraan made headlines when he accused a society in Bandra, Mumbai for religious discrimination. He quoted that society didn’t let him buy a flat even after having a non-objection certificate because of his religion. However, the flat owner refused such claims and said that he didn’t want to sell his property at that time.
4- Emraan spoke against the censor board of film certification when they asked the production team of his movie Cheat India to change the name of the movie to Why Cheat India at the last moment. Even the censor board ordered to remove the tagline as well. Emraan found these changes confusing since the movie was marketed as Cheat India and earlier the censor board cleared teaser, trailers and posters of the movie.
Unknown Facts
1- Emraan Hashmi has a mixed ethnicity. His father was a Muslim while his mother was Catholic.
2- His paternal grandmother Meherbano Mohammed Ali was the sister of Shirin Mohammed Ali, the mother of Mahesh and Mukesh Bhatt. Hence, Emraan Hashmi is a cousin of Mohit Suri, Alia Bhatt and Pooja Bhatt.
3- He was roped for the movie Yeh Zindagi Ka Safar as his debut movie opposite Ameesha Patel but the producers replaced him saying that he wasn’t a good fit for the role.
4- After making his debut in Bollywood with the movie Footpath, he changed his name to Farhan Hashmi. However, after the success of his movie Murder, he rolled back to his name Emraan Hashmi.
5- Emraan’s life turned upside down when his 3 years old son Ayaan Hashmi was diagnosed with cancer. Emraan released an autobiography The Kiss of Love depicting the overall experience of battling cancer.
