Education and schooling
Sara Ali Khan did her initial schooling at Besant Montessori School, Mumbai. She went on to complete her graduation in history and political science at Columbia University, New York. Sara was diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome at an early age which contributed to her struggle with weight gain. Therefore she completed her four and a half years graduation in just three years and utilized the remaining years for weight training before debuting in Bollywood.

1- Sara Ali Khan made her magazine debut with her photo on the Filmfare cover page but it didn’t go well with the fans. In the cover photo, Sara Ali Khan posed with a Masai Tribesman in the backdrop. People found it disrespectful and cultural appropriation for using a Masai Tribesman as a prop for the photo shoot.
2- Sara Ali Khan’s debut movie Kedarnath was banned in the Uttrakhand state after the Kedarnath Temple accused the movie to be promoting Love jihad. Kedarnath was a love story between a Hindu girl and a Muslim porter set at the backdrop of 2013 Uttrakhand floods.
3- After her debut movie met with controversies, she faced a hard time in the Bollywood industry as well. In an interview, Sara Ali Khan confessed that after her movie was banned for religious issues, directors and producers from Bollywood were not offering any role to her. She thanked Karan Johar who stood with her and cast her in Simmba opposite Ranveer Singh.
4- Sara Ali Khan was to make her debut with Abhishek Kapoor’s directorial Kedarnath but the production got delayed due to legal issues. In the meantime, Sara signed Rohit Shetty’s action movie Simmba which breached her contract with Abhishek Kapoor and he sent her a legal notice. Saif Ali Khan intervened into the matter and Sara agreed to split her time to both the movies.
