Education and schooling
Shraddha Kapoor did her initial schooling at Jamnabai Narsee School, Mumbai and completed her studies at American School of Bombay, Mumbai. She was the classmate of Bollywood actors Tiger Shroff and Athiya Shetty. After completing 12th grade, Shraddha enrolled herself at Boston University, USA to pursue a major in psychology. However, she dropped out of college in the first year to pursue her career in acting.

Debut to Stardom
Salman Khan saw Shraddha Kapoor in a school play when she was just sixteen and offered her a role in his movie which she rejected to pursue her career as a psychologist although she wanted to become an actor at an early age. However, when she enrolled in Boston University to major in psychology, producer Ambika Hinduja approached her for a Bollywood movie and she dropped out of the college in the first year.
Shraddha Kapoor made her acting debut with the movie Teen Patti alongside Amitabh Bachchan and R. Madhavan in the lead role. The movie crashed at the box office and received negative reviews from critics and audience, alike. However, her performance in the movie was appreciated and she signed a three movie deal with Yash Raj Films. Her first movie in the contract was comedy-drama Luv Ka The End. The movie failed to perform at the box office and Shraddha received another flop in her career.
Her second Yash Raj movie was supposed to be Aurangzeb opposite Arjun Kapoor, however, she cancelled her contract with Yash Raj Films and signed Mohit Suri’s Aashiqui 2 alongside Aditya Roy Kapur. Aashiqui 2 was a turning point of her career as it was her first commercial success and made her a household name.

In the year 2014, Shraddha Kapoor reunited with director Mohit Suri for the movie Ek Villain alongside Siddharth Malhotra and Ritesh Deshmukh. The movie turned out to be a major commercial success and Shraddha Kapoor was heavily praised for her performance. She next appeared opposite Shahid Kapoor in Vishal Bhardwaj’s adaptation of William Shakespeare’s Hamlet, Haider. The movie was a commercial success but it gained more popularity for the positive reviews from the critics.
Shraddha Kapoor went on to appear in one after another successful movie to set her mark in the Bollywood industry. Her most successful movies include dance-drama ABCD 2, action movie Baaghi, romantic-drama Half Girlfriend and horror comedy Stree.

1- Shraddha Kapoor was criticized for posing in Dabboo Ratnani’s latest calendar wearing native American headgear. People from India and abroad considered it cultural appropriation and criticised Shraddha for being unaware of such cultural issues.
2- Shraddha Kapoor shared an inspirational picture of Marilyn Monroe on her Twitter handle which attracted criticism. The post was against body shaming but Shraddha Kapoor actively promotes an ice tea brand which claims weight loss. Twitterati called Shraddha a hypocrite.
3- Shraddha became a victim of a wardrobe malfunction during a promotional event for her movie Aashiqui 2.
4- A criminal complaint was filed against Shraddha Kapoor and the producer of her movie Haseena Parkar by a cloth manufacturing company. The company claimed that they had a contract with the film production to promote their brand but it was neither promoted in the film nor during the promotions.
